What is Disciple Now?
Disciple Now is in its simplest form, a fall retreat. Instead of going to a facility far away, we have decided to acquire different homes, known as Host Homes, from families within our church. The students will spend the weekend at one of these homes with their Disciple Now leader. During the weekend there will be break out sessions in each home going over a curriculum. At Disciple Now it is our goal to focus on spiritual and relational growth. There is a time for the leaders to invest into the students without any distractions and there are many opportunities for the students to connect with each other relationally.
What are the dates and what is the cost?
Disciple Now is usually over a weekend in November. The students arrive at their host homes Friday between 6:45pm and 7:00pm and your student will be at church on Sunday morning to be picked up. Disciple Now registration is $50 and late registration of $75.
Why is Disciple Now important?
The reason that Disciple Now is so important is because it allows an avenue for our youth leaders to connect one on one in a small group setting with each of our students. The bulk of our unity is built during this weekend. Here is a testimony of a former student, "I remember my first Disciple Now when I was in the 7th grade. I was in a host home with one of my best friends Daniel Brown and my small group leader Shane Skeens. I really did not know any of the leaders as a 7th grader and I was nervous but excited about going. Because of that weekend I connected with the leader Shane Skeens. To this day I still keep in contact with both Daniel Brown and my 7th grade small group leader Shane Skeens. This weekend has the potential to build life long friendships for your student as well as bring real spiritual change."
